The Caveman Tamagotchi (also known as Genjintchi) was released alongside the Peking Man movie in 1997. This is the second Tamagotchi to be released in such a manner.

Unlike other Tamagotchis, the Caveman Tamagotchi will actually devolve if neglected too much. It will revert back to previous species and take longer to grow.
